Hours of operation:
Administrative offices are open by appointment, phone 860-647-9983. Lectures and programs at the History Center are listed on the Events page. Exhibits and museum store are open weekdays, except holidays; please phone ahead 860-647-9983 to ensure that a volunteer will be there. If Manchester's schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Museum Store may also close, so please phone ahead, 860-647-9983.

Driving Directions to The Manchester History Center
From Hartford, eastbound on Route 84, Exit 59 to I-384 East.
Take Exit 3 off I-384. Right off the exit ramp onto South Main Street. At the first light, take a left onto Hartford Road. Take the second right onto Pine Street. The History Center is on the right, at the corner of Forest Street. The parking lot is just beyond the building.

From Providence, R.I. and Bolton, CT, westbound on I-384 West.
Take Exit 3 off I-384. Left off the exit onto Charter Oak Street. Straight through first light (intersection with Main Street), and stay straight -- name of road changes to Hartford Road. Take the second right onto Pine Street. The History Center is on the right, at the corner of Forest Street. The parking lot is just beyond the building.


Old Manchester Museum

Hours of operation:
The Old Manchester Museum and its museum store are generally open on the first Saturday of the month, weather permitting. Please check the Events page for details. The museum is also open for tours and research, please phone Dave Smith, curator, in advance 860-647-9983. Suggested donation is $5.00 per person (members and those age 16 and under free).

Driving Directions to The Old Manchester Museum
From Hartford, eastbound on Route 84, Exit 59 to I-384 East.

Woodbridge Farmstead

Driving Directions to The Woodbridge Farmstead
The Woodbridge Farmstead is located at 495 East Middle Turnpike, east of the intersection of the Turnpike and Woodbridge Street, opposite the Green. To see the barn and grounds, walk down the grass driveway between the house and Woodbridge Pizza.

Suggested admission fee for the Old Manchester Museum, Cheney Homestead, and exhibits at all sites: $5. Free for members and for those under 16. Costs for lectures, history walks, and other programs are listed on the Events page.
